    Head Brewer for Keel Farms Agrarian Ales, Tampa, FL

    Keel Farms is a 40-acre farm, brewery and winery located just outside Tampa, FL. The family farm is home to a large tasting room, restaurant and event space as well as many acres of blueberries, peaches, and strawberries. The company is growing exponentially and gaining tremendous recognition along the way including being named the #13 best place to work in all of Tampa Bay and a finalist for Tampa Bay Small Business of the Year. We are looking for a brewer that is excited to brew with our farm products in traditional styles in addition to sour beers and barrel-aging.

    Job Summary
    Keel Farms is a small business, and our brewers and winemakers are involved in many aspects of the company including brewing, cellaring, packaging, cleaning and lab work, as well as brewer events and other promotions. We are currently seeking an experienced brewer with a minimum of three years professional brewing experience.

    General Accountabilities
    Including, but not limited to:
    ● Tank cleaning
    ● Wort Production
    ● Dry-hopping
    ● Tank fining
    ● Packaging
    ● Raw material inventory
    ● Maintain and improve company quality and safety standards
    ● Maintain brewery equipment.
    ● The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

    Credentials and Experience

    ● Experience: 3 or more years of related brewing experience, 1-2 years experience managing a team
    ● Brewing specific education preferred, bachelor’s degree in science, biotechnology, process engineering, organic chemistry, or another related field a plus but not required

    ● Extensive experience on small canning lines a plus
    BJCP or Cicerone certification a plus

    Skills
    ● Excellent verbal and written communication
    ● Proficient knowledge of equipment used to prepare beer
    ● High energy level and an attention to detail
    ● Optimistic, positive attitude
    ● Ability to work as a part of a large team
    ● Manual dexterity

    Physical Conditions
    Ability to handle different kinds of equipment like hoses, brewing vessels, carbonating machines and packaging machinery. Capacity to lift heavy sacks up to 55 lbs., maneuver 175 lbs., drag heavy hoses and perform other physically demanding duties.

    Working Conditions
    The work environment can be cold, wet, hot and noisy and may require work in enclosed spaces like brewing vessels and tanks.

    Salary: $40K-$55K per year depending on experience. Relocation bonus available.
