Job Purpose:
To help supervise, organize and schedule labor and raw material so that quality and flavor profile are insured and that forecasted sales demand volume is met by brand and package type.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Staff training on the following items:
Milling/mill maintenance
Brewhouse Operations
Tank cleaning/sanitation
Centrifuge Operation/maintenance
General Maintenance/QC
Asst. Brewmaster in staff fulfillment/maintenance
Interview/hiring of potential candidates
Annual reviews of each team member
Recommendations on staff discipline (up to and including termination)
Supervising the writing and editing of SOPs for all functions in the brewery beginning with milling and through the packaging process.
Cultivate culture of safety/safe operational processes insuring staff use PPE and follows all lock out/tag out protocols and safety proceedures.
Monitoring of fermentation tanks on a daily basis
Monitoring of yeast vitality, generations, etc.
Write production and packaging schedules on a monthly basis based upon forecast, inventory, labor demand, raw material availability, etc.
Order raw materials based off the production and packaging schedule keeping the sales forecast in mind
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Brewing diploma/certificate
4 years minimum experience in the brewing industry
Previous experience managing staff and writing production schedules
Ability to use excel
Excellent communication skills
Excellent record keeping skills
Working conditions:
The job can require work in extremely hot/humid conditions as well as cold/damp conditions. It can also require the ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly with long periods of standing. It is repetitive work with few breaks. Additionally, it requires the ability to sit and do computer work periodically as well as meet with brewery management to discuss issues of need in terms of staff, tools, maintenance, and interaction with other departments. Finally, the ability and willingness to fill in operational roles on the production or packaging teams is required during staff vacations, illnesses, injuries or during periods of transitions on the team.

Compensation:
Salary based position that is DOE
2 weeks paid vacation with increases according to employee handbook
