Position: Production Brewer (Full Time)

Big Boss Brewing Company (Raleigh, NC) is looking for a talented production brewer to join our team. Founded in 2007, Big Boss is one of the oldest breweries in Raleigh. We brew an eclectic mix of beers for distribution throughout North Carolina and to serve our taproom guests. Responsibilities:
Brewhouse Operation - all aspects of wort production: milling, mashing, boiling, grain-out, brewing house vessel clean-in-place (CIP), daily and accurate record keeping.
Cellar work - Dry hopping, centrifugation.
Packaging - keg washing, carbonating, packaging (canning), and kegging.
QA/QC - Monitor all critical parameters during fermentation (Gravity, pH, Temp), sensory validation, carbonation, and never ending quest to keep DO levels as low as possible.
Strict adherence to all standard operating procedures.
Upward communication to brewery director on all KPI deviations.
Maintenance of all brewing equipment with monthly reporting on any equipment that needs attention.
Raw materials inventory management (ingredients and some packaging materials)
Other duties as assigned
Skills/Requirements:
2+ years experience brewing in a commercial production facility.
Timely, self motivated, and accountable.
Hot Side and Cold Side experience.
Some lab experience beneficial, but not required.
Professional and polite demeanor.
Basic understanding of TTB and FDA requirements
Basic understanding of brewing industry standards
Ability to perform multiple operations simultaneously and excellent time management.
Collaborative and able to receive feedback from management.
Flexible schedule required (nights, weekends, early mornings).
Sales and Marketing Support Required as needed
Driven to hit deadlines and proactively providing upward feedback to management when timelines are in question
Dependable transportation
Work Environment:
Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment for 8-10 hours.
Ability to lift 50lbs or maneuver full kegs (170lbs).
Ability to safely handle chemicals and work around steam and high voltages.
Fork Lift Experience in tight spaces a plus
Work in non-climate controlled environment
