    Jekyll & Hyde Brewing Co. is actively looking for a head brewer who’s ready to take it to the next level. The accomplished candidate will have a minimal of 3 years brewing on a commercial system.

    Company Description:

    We are a family owned and operated business. Jekyll & Hyde Taphouse and Grill was established in 2017 in Matthews, NC as a 3400 sf restaurant/taphouse. Fast forward 3 years and we opened our second location, a 12,000 sf restaurant/brewery in the historical center of Belmont, NC. The Belmont location houses our Deutsche 7 BBL 2 vessel system with six 15 BBL fermentation tanks. We are currently in the process of opening our 3rd location, a 6800 sf restaurant/brewhouse with a rooftop bar. Our goal is to bring our brand of food and beer throughout the Carolinas.


    The head brewer will be in charge of all aspects of the brew process. Must have a passion for not only brewing beer, but making great beer. Some of the responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
    • Advanced level of brewing, recipe creation, cellaring and packaging
    • Perform all cellar duties including safely cleaning tanks/vessels, transfer of product, carbonation, dry hopping or applying any fruit additions to product in fermentation vessels.
    • Perform light maintenance on brewhouse equipment
    • Experience handling chemicals with an emphasis on following cleaning and sanitizing SOP’s
    • Completing brewhouse and cellar labs testing including but not limited to: yeast count/viability/propagation, wort stability, brewing water chlorine and Ph, wort O2 levels
    • Inventory, ordering and stocking of all materials required for brewing and packaging
    • Must be self-motivated; ability to work unsupervised
    • Learn and follow Jekyll & Hyde brewing recipes & procedures
    • Brewhouse cleaning, including CIP of all brewhouse items
    • Washing kegs & kegging beer
    • Keep a clean and sanitized work environment
    • Train staff in product presentation of in house brews

    • Meticulous record keeping and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • 40+ hours week
    • Ability to lift/maneuver up to 165lbs (full 1/2 keg)
    • Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and nights when needed. Normal operating schedule will be daytime during the week.
    • Strong people skills and professional demeaner. Will be attending events and training seminars.

    • Ensure all brewhouse activities are properly recorded
    • Ensure all brewing documentation including TTB spreadsheets, brew sheets, packaging logs are accurately and properly prepared, suitable for regulatory requirements, and submitted in a timely manner
