    Job Description - Brewery Lead

    Kombucha Town is looking for our next dynamic team member!

    Position: Brewery Lead

    Schedule: Full-time

    Position Summary: The Head Brewer is ultimately responsible for the flavor, quality and consistency of all tea created in the brewhouse and ensuring proper fermentation, pasteurization and carbonation of brew residing in totes and brite vessels. He/she will provide direction, training and set an example for any and all brewing and packaging team members. The Head Brewer helps to communicate the production schedule directly to the brewing and packaging teams. The Head Brewer coordinates with other production management to maintain the organization, cleanliness and efficient use of the entire brewing facility.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Maintain quality and consistency of all brew produced
    • Record data in all applicable internal documents related to the brew process.
    • Maintains quality and consistency of all brew produced
    • Checks in inventory and regulates use and purchase
    • Makes recipe adjustments/corrections as necessary
    • Monitors fermentations and records fermentation data
    • Maintains organization and monitors fulfillment of all brewing and packaging logs
    • Tastes and approves blends prior to processing
    • Helps Production Manager formulate and fulfill the production schedule
    • Creation of daily brewing/pasteurization schedule
    • Creates and carries out new/improved recipe trials
    • Receiving and logging of organic ingredients
    • Maintains par levels of all ingredients, chemicals and packaging inventory used in and for production
    • Purchases consumables and incidentals used in the production process
    • Aids in the creation of production operating budget
    • Brewing Team bi-annual reviews

    Requirements include:
    • High standard of attention to detail
    • Professional, courteous, and clear verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-starter and proactive; able to work independently without supervision
    • Excellent work ethic
    • Flexibility within work
    • 2+ years food/ beverage manufacturing preferred
    • Able to be trained in driving a forklift

    Physical Demands:
    • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds unassisted
    • Twist, bend, crawl and reach above head required
    • Experience operating forklift preferred

    Compensation: Competitive, DOE

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
