    The crew at Rails End Beer Company is in search of a part time assistant brewer with the opportunity to grow into a full time position. The Assistant Brewer’s daily duties will consist of wort production and/or cellar duties. Our brewery is just about to start build out on a taproom expansion that will at least double its size. The ideal candidate will be ready, willing, and able to dive in and help us continue our growth as a gathering place for the Broomfield community. We are looking for someone who would like to share their passion of beer with excitement and enthusiasm!

    About the job
    The Assistant Brewer has a very important role since they are involved with everything that involves beer. This person has the ability to pay attention to the tiniest details, and has a good focus for quality, consistency, and safety. They are also a very hard worker with the ability to multi-task. Their time will be spent on brewing and/or cellar duties. This is a public position meaning that the assistant brewer will most likely have customer interactions daily.

    • Wort production on a two vessel 15bbl brewhouse
    • CIP of Brewhouse, Fermentation vessels, and Brite tank
    • Weigh and prepare ingredients for milling, hop additions during boil, dry hopping, and beer clarifying
    • Complete and organize Brew Day records
      • Record time of events, wort pH, pre and post boil gravity
    • Monitoring temperature and oxygenation of bitter wort during knockout
    • Complete and organize all Fermentation records
      • Daily as needed pH, gravity, date
    • Complete cellar duties as needed
      • Dry hopping, monitoring tank pressures and temperatures, beer clarification
    • Transfer beer to and from fermentation vessel, brite tank, kegs
    • Transfer beer in an aseptic manner
    • Yeast handling and pitching
    • Support packaging team on canning days
    • At least two years of professional brewing experience
    • Formal brewing education is favorable
    • Must have the ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, work from heights, stoop, kneel and crouch.
    • Must be able to lift 65 pounds and move 175 pounds regularly
    • The ability to work in loud, wet, cold, hot, indoor and outdoor environments frequently
    • Extensive experience and understanding of the brewing process, cleaning, sanitation, dry hopping, beer transfer and clarification, as well as brewery quality control procedures
    • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus and the ability to see color; either with or without accommodation.
