    Head Brewer
    Willcott Brewing Company, located in Holton, Kansas, is looking for a candidate to fill a full time Head Brewer position to join our growing team. We are a rapidly growing newer brewery that produces packaged beer for distribution, as well as operating an on-site taproom. We are looking for a candidate that not only brings knowledge of the brewing process, but has a passion for the industry, and can contribute to the fun, laid back atmosphere we are building.
    Job Summary
    Head Brewer will be responsible for all aspects of the brewing process, including but not limited to wort production, fermentation, conditioning, packaging, and environment cleanliness and sanitation.
    Responsibilities
    • Recipe development, including pilot system utilization for test batch production
    • Brew day preparations (grain milling, water preparation, brewhouse staging, etc.)
    • Wort production from start to finish
    • Cleaning and sanitizing all aspects of the brew house
    • Fermentation monitoring, record keeping, dry hopping, and yeast management
    • Beer conditioning and carbonation in cold cellar
    • Keg maintenance, cleaning, and filling
    • Assistance on 12oz glass bottle packaging line where needed
    • Draft beer system cleaning and maintenance
    • Active participant on continuous improvement throughout the process
    • Act as a steward at brew festivals, events, and conferences
    Requirements
    • Ability to lift (60) lbs (1/6 bbl kegs), and maneuver 170 lbs (1/2 bbl kegs)
    • Self-starter, and capability to work without being micromanaged
    • Positive attitude, and contribute to strong team environment
    • Passion for quality, and drive for continuous improvements
    • Exceptional housekeeping practices
    • Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate long brew days when necessary
    Qualifications
    • Professional brewing experience at a brewery or brewpub
    • Beer education or certification preferred
    • Minimum of 21 years old
    Compensation
    • Negotiable and based on experience
    • Relocation/starting bonus possible for the right candidate
