    Energetic craft brewery located within 30 minutes of the Des Moines Region in Iowa. Centrally located with a two vessel ten barrel brewhouse with four 20bbl fermenters and one 20bbl brite tank. We are seeking a qualified and experienced brewer to lead our team.

    The Head Brewer is responsible for day-to-day production brewing operations, including, but not limited to, brewing, cellar management, packaging product, production planning, general cleaning, operation and upkeep of equipment, and mentoring other brewers, all while maintaining quality control throughout all aspects of the brewing and cellar processes. The Head Brewer manages the Brewhouse team, fosters teamwork, and maintains brewhouse staff cohesiveness. The Head Brewer maintains an engaging and positive team environment for the production brewing operation.

    Experience & Requirements:

    *Passion for all things Craft Beer with a focus on our local, small-town community
    *Troubleshooting skills and strong mechanical/electrical aptitude
    *Great written and verbal communication skills
    *A problem solver with attention to detail
    *Fantastic organizational skills
    *Astute attention to detail
    *Ability to identify flaws in beer through sensory analysis: sight, smell and taste

    Must be able to:
    *Work both independently and within a team
    *Safely handle chemicals with an emphasis on cleaning and sanitizing protocols
    *Stand for extended periods of time
    *Perform repetitive motions for extended periods of time
    *Frequently lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds
    *Experience in beer production required

    Key Responsibilities:

    *Learning and taking charge of key brewery processes, especially packaging and cellaring
    *Formulation of recipes
    *Quality assurance to ensure the consistent production of great beer
    *Cleaning and sanitation of brewery equipment and cellar vessels
    *Day to day gravity, temperature and pH checks of fermenting beer
    *Beer transfers, tank to tank/prep beers for packaging
    *Working with raw ingredients, water, malt, hops and yeast
    *Assisting the team in various tasks as needed
    *General facility cleaning and organizing daily and through each step of brewing
    *Understanding and practicing all internal safety standards
    *Troubleshooting problems and working on special projects
    *Helping to install and maintain equipment
    *Serve as a spokesperson for the brewery and the product, the face of the brewery.
    *Interacting with the public daily, conducting brewery tours and attending beer festivals, community events and special events as necessary.
    *Work with the Operations Manager/owners to ensure brewery schedules adhere to budget and production requirements.
    *Ensure compliance with all Alcohol and Tobacco, Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) standards and required documentation. Complete TTB Report of Operations Monthly.
    *Provide weekly product and brew forecasts.

    Education & Experience
    High School Diploma or GED (Required). College degree, or Advanced Brewing certificate (Preferred)
    Minimum 2 years professional experience in brewing operations.
    Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, mobile applications, and technology.
    Must be 21 years of age
