Production Brewer in Paradise (Turks and Caicos Islands)

The Caribbean is calling! Turks Head Brewery is looking to add a production brewer to our small hardworking team. With world class beaches, diving, and kite boarding, let your experience as a brewer take you to one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Day to Day duties:

- Daily production of our 4 core brands on a 40BBL Criveller brewhouse

• Yeast handling and management
• CIP of brewhouse and fermentation vessels as well as other equipment
• Following SOPs in all aspects of brewing and cellaring
• Cellerwork including operation of centrifuge and plate filter
• Ensuring clean and sanitary work practices throughout the day
• Ensure the Brewing Facility is kept clean and functional at all times
• Follow Cleaning & Maintenance Schedules and consult supervisor about cleaning needs,

and perform or direct all required cleanings to the appropriate standard.

• Clean tanks, Brewhouse, kegs, pins, packaging line and other equipment
• Assist with inventory management generally and inventory counts specifically of grain,

hops, and other raw brewing materials inventory.
Follow inventory procedures for all raw materials, chemicals, beer, cooperage, supplies
etc. and report deficiencies to appropriate persons

• Monitor quality and temperature of fermenting beers on a daily basis.
• Participate in beer tasting panels
• Represent Turk’s Head Brewery at various events, festivals and promotions. Promote
• good public relations and handle complaints and concerns.
• Assist staff with day to day tasks, problems and needs concerning equipment, supplies,
• etc.
• Troubleshoot and report all equipment problems, violations or substandard practices to

the Head Brewer or Brewery Manager

• Be responsible for maintaining all required paperwork and records including but not
• limited to brew logs, inventory sheets, recipe sheets.
• Ensure the entire brewing facility including brewery, tanks, mill, counters, equipment,

sinks, supplies, packaging line, shelving and storage areas are clean and comply with
established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards at all times.
Requirements:

• At least 2 years of production brewing.
• Strong understanding of all aspects encompassing brewing.
• Strong work ethic and great sense of humor (There are some challenges to brewing on a small island).
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Physically able to complete a 8-10 hour day in a hot climate
• Above all, the desire to continuously get better as a brewer and help us maintain our great beer.

This position focuses mostly on daily production brewing. But as a small team we operate interchangeably across all processes and will require some cellar work as well as the opportunity to brew pilot beers on our 3BBL Criveller system for draught only.
Turks and Caicos is a beautiful place to live. Groceries and gas are expensive, but the salary provided for this position makes it an easy place to live. There are no taxes here, and there is government sponsored health insurance paid partially by you with a small amount taken from your paycheck weekly. Life is slower here; there are no malls, movie theatres, McDonald’s, etc., but it is stunningly beautiful each and every day.
We are hiring right away but as this is a work permitted position that process can take up to 6 months to complete. Our fantastic HR team will assist the right candidate in everything required to get that under way.
