    Who We Are
    Goat Island Brewing is an established premier brewery located in the heart of beautiful Northern Alabama. We strive to creatively use the best processes possible to turn the best ingredients available into the best beer imaginable. We currently distribute to all of Alabama and Georgia, and the panhandle of Northern Florida. Goat Island has won numerous awards and has been named the best brewery in the state in Alabama Magazine’s Best of Bama.
    We are located in the lovely city of Cullman. With small town charm and all the amenities of big city life, Cullman offers a relatively affordable housing market, a fantastic parks and rec system, and great public schools. We are less than an hour to the major markets of Birmingham and Huntsville, within a few hours of Nashville, Chattanooga, Atlanta, and Memphis, and within a day’s drive of everything from Florida beaches to New Orleans and Dallas to Chicago and Washington, D.C.
    Goat Island Brewing produces a full line of award-winning ales and lagers, with year-round, seasonal, and rotating offerings. This keeps us very busy, and we are currently looking to add another outstanding individual to our production team.
    The Job You’ll Do
    All aspects of brewery operation, including but not limited to: wort production; hop, grain, and spent grain handling; yeast management; beer transferring, filtering, and carbonating; packaging and racking; shipping and receiving; facility cleaning and maintenance; paperwork/maintaining records; leading and managing junior team members; and representing the company both inside and outside the brewery and taproom. You will report to the Head Brewer.
    What We’re Looking For
    Minimum Required Skills/Background
    You must be passionate about craft beer, possess a strong desire to learn and excel, have the ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment, have the ability to follow all company procedures and policies, have the ability to operate with minimal supervision, have the ability to think critically and resolve problems, have the ability to multitask, be reliable with a strong work ethic, have a team mentality, demonstrate strong communication skills, be at least a High School graduate with college preferred, .
    You will be expected to be able to work on your feet and stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach, regularly lift up to 55 lbs. from the floor and move up to 160 lbs. across the floor, safely use a ladder, and know how to operate a motor vehicle. Due to tasting/quality control aspects of the position, 21 and over please.
    Additionally Valued Skills/Background
    Knowledge of brewing processes and terminology, previous experience in the beverage and/or culinary industry, a college degree, computer proficiency, and the ability to operate a forklift will greatly enhance your resume.
    The Preferred Candidate Will Also Have
    Strong preference given to an applicant with 3-5 years professional brewing experience and a college degree in a relevant field.
