Description:
Hell’s Basement Brewery is seeking a temporary full time brewing assistant. Hell’s Basement is a ~2,000 hL/year brewery that produces a range of classic and new style beers as well as craft sodas, ciders, and seltzers. Located centrally in Medicine Hat (the sunniest city in Canada) Hell’s Basement utilizes a 20 bbl brew house, and a cellar composed of 10, 20, and 40 bbl fermenters as well as a Cask ACS canner. Working directly under the head brewer daily tasks will include:
-brewing preparations (milling, cleaning, water treatment)
-brewing beers and other beverages
-packaging in both kegs and cans
-cellaring tasks such as gravity readings, trubbing, and transfers
-CIP operations on both hot and cold side
-and general tasks as required such as inventory counts, warehouse cleaning, and deliveries
Compensation:
19$/hour
Beer allotments
Requirements:
Candidates should possess knowledge of raw materials, the brewing process, cellaring and packaging operations, and beer quality. Either some formal education or practical experience in a production brewery is required. Valid ProServe is preferred. Must be able to lift a minimum of 55lbs repeatedly, have a good work ethic, a good attitude, and a passion for craft beer.
