    Cellar Position - Southern NJ

Swedesboro Brewing Co. is an 1 year old growing brewery in the southern NJ. We project to produce about 1,000 bbls this year and are eyeing some aggressive growth. We're looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic, passionate, team-oriented and reliable candidate to produce great beer for the great state of New Jersey. This position will include cellar work, packaging and above all brewery sanitation. We are a small, but growing brewery where everyone helps everyone else. What are we looking for? It is important that the individual has a strong desire to be part of a family with a passion for making great beer, who cares deeply about its patrons and its community, someone who wants to not only grow with us, but help us grow. We want a self-motivated, willing-to-work person who will help us develop and expand our brewery operations, while having a great sense of humor, infinite patience and is totally unafraid of working hard. In return, this individual will have the opportunity to work in a brewery where everyone cares about each other and the main goal is to make the best beer possible while having a great time. We are family owned and we consider our employees family.

    Responsibilities:
    • Assist in all brewing/packaging operations via kegging and contract canning when necessary.
    • Help deliver beer to off site storage
    • Operate CIP (Clean In Place) systems for all brewing and cellaring equipment, including the use of potentially dangerous chemicals
    • Operate keg washer, cleaning and sanitizing all beer contact surfaces and equipment
    • Carbonate finished beer and prepare beer for packaging
    • Regularly and safely work around high voltage, flame and hot water
    • Ensure proper record keeping of all brewing and cleaning activities
    • Be mindful of potential quality concerns
    • Maintain compliance with all brewery safety protocols
    • Remain in constant communication with the Lead Brewer and Managers

    Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Have a valid drivers license and clean record
    • Be able to lift 55lbs frequently and move up to 170lbs
    • Positive outlook and attitude
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Brewing experience and education is welcomed, but not necessarily required. A will to learn, to listen, to adapt and to be open minded and creative are more important.

In addition to the preceding list of clearly-defined responsibilities, there are a number of unpredictable tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis. We expect all our brewery employees to be willing to take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed, pursuing them with the same passion, care and attention as every other task. Flexibility is critical.
