Kauai Island Brewing Co (Hawaii) is looking to hire an experienced brewer to join our team.
Kauai Island Brewing Company, Established 2012 and located on the West Side of Kauai, Hawaii, is in search of a talented, creative and energetic Brewer to fill a long term position.
Our Brewpub operation consists of a 10BBl JVNW brewhouse, with 6 fermentors (10BBL) and 10 serving tanks. We’re in the process of expanding and adding some 20 BBL tanks and additional equipment
This position includes but is not limited to:
-All aspects of operating on our 10 bbl brewhouse from Wort production and fermentation to cellaring operations
-Maintaining the draft system and following quality control practices to pour a clean, quality product with minimal waste
-Maintaining inventory and properly storing all brewing ingredients and supplies
-Assists in general and routine maintenance of brewing area and equipment
-Maintaining a clean working environment
Maintain a Safe working environment
-Cleaning/filling kegs for distribution and outside sales
-Maintaining draft accounts of our clients, (delivering beer and cleaning lines)
-Maintaining current established recipes and participating in the creation of new and seasonal recipes
-Conducting brewing operations in a cost effective manner
-Representing Kauai Island Brewing Company at occasional beer fests or brewery events
-Providing occasional tours to customers
-Additional duties may be assigned as necessary
Ideal Applicants should have:
-Five (5) or more years professional brewing experience.
-Understanding of draft technology and science
-Knowledge and understanding of brewing science, yeast handling and quality control procedures
-Formal education in brewing a plus but not required
Hours are flexible, but you will be working with our existing Crew and your schedule will need to fall in line with existing schedule and production needs.
We’re a 10 BBL Brewpub, with a large amount of our beer consumed in house. We have about 50 tap handles at restaurants outside our location. In the coming months we’ll be opening a satellite pub, in nearby Koloa. We’re currently producing about 1,300 BBL annually, but with the installation of additional tanks and the new restaurant opening, we’re looking to significantly increase production.
We realize picking up and moving to Kauai can be a major decision, especially during uncertain times. We are not looking for a brewer who wants to travel, stay a few months and move on. We are looking to hire for a long term position with opportunity of growth as the business grows. Compensation:
Pay rate is +/- $25 per hour and negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Our benefits package including medical, dental, vision, as well as food and beer discounts and also paid vacation/sick leave after a year of employment.
