We are looking for an experienced person to join our team.
We operate a 30bbl, 4 vessel system at our production facility and typically brew 60 and 120bbl batches 1 to 3 times a week depending on the season. We also have a 7bbl brewhouse at our taproom location where the majority of what we brew are experimental/one off batches.
As a small team, our brewers typically do all manner of work in the brewery, including all the brewing and washing the brewhouse, all cellar work, keg washing, and also pack out table on the canning line when necessary. This has worked very well for us in terms of keeping reliable and dedicated staff while not having an overabundance of employees to manage. Being a good fit and getting along with the other staff will be absolutely necessary.
Job requirements:
- At least 1 year direct experience brewing and conducting cellar work (moving beer, washing tanks, etc.) in a production brewery
- A working understanding of brewing science throughout the brewing and cellaring process
- Be able to lift #50
- Be adaptive to protocols in place for all brewing and cellar procedures (we want you to know what you're doing, but also be flexible enough to adopt our techniques)
- Commitment to the highest quality in beer production
- A creative approach to problem solving and the ability to approach tasks with an evolving mindset - we're not reinventing the wheel, but we are continuously improving our protocols and techniques
- High level multi tasking and time management skills
- Excellent communication
- A flexible schedule and willingness to work some weekends and holidays when necessary
- Brewing education, BJCP, Cicerone Certification, or other continuing education in the field of brewing is a plus
Pay will reflect experience and ability. We offer health benefits, and vacation days are included in the job contract. Profit sharing opportunities are available after 2 years of employment, as well as quarterly barrelage bonuses.
If you are a committed brewer, friendly communicator, and a hard worker, you will fit in just fine here. We have had much success in the last 7.5 years of operation and distribute throughout Tennessee, Alabama, and North Georgia. All of us are beer lovers in both the brewer's and consumer's sense - we all scrutinize over the production of very high quality beers and expect them to live up to our tastes through sensory evaluation.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who wants to make a career in the brewing industry, or at least can commit to a substantial period of time with us (we can discuss this time period).
