    This position includes both brewing and cellaring tasks in a weekly rotation to include grain handling, brewhouse operation, CIP/SIP, yeast handling, centrifuge operation, dry hopping, and cleaning. Additional responsibilities include the analysis of various production and quality parameters. This position is atypical in the brewing world as it rotates through both brewhouse and cellar operations.

    Responsibilities
    • Operation and basic maintenance of raw materials handling, Brewhouse operations, Cellar management and Filtration procedures
    • Ability to make critical decisions based on various production and quality parameters
    • Share in all production duties and responsibilities
    • Assess the status of operations and troubleshoot process issues
    • Analysis of various production and quality parameters
    • Ongoing brewery sanitation
    • Other duties as assigned
    Requirements
    • One - two years multi-batch shift brewing and centrifuge experience with additional consideration given to candidates with advanced brewing/food science/lab science education & experience
    • High School diploma or GED (4 year college degree a plus)
    • Strong time management skills, skilled multitasker and an attention to detail
    • This position requires 1st and 2nd shift (rotating) and occasional weekend and overtime work availability as needed
    • Strong organizational, communication, computer and record keeping skills
    • A basic understanding of laboratory techniques (cell counting, DO meter, etc)
    • A positive attitude, willingness to learn
    • Ability to operate with minimal supervision
    • Willingness to fill in other job duties as necessary
    Working Environment/Physical Demands

    This job is conducted in a manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes and at times the work areas may be wet where personal protection needs to be worn. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools and controls; to reach with hands and arms; to stand, walk sit stoop or crouch; to talk and to hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and work in tight spaces at times. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Production staff often stand in one place for most of their shift and do repetitive motions. At times the production environment has noise levels which are usually moderate to loud and warehouse temperature fluctuates according to the weather.
