    Are you an experienced brewer who has been thinking about your next career step AND about moving across the Atlantic ? We want your expertise in Paris. *Heads up, your new colleagues might only speak French...*


    Gallia 1890 is looking for the next generation to bring creativity into the French craft beer scene. We have 2 possible openings, depending on experience. Starting as early as beginning 2023, we’d like to hire a brewer and potentially create a position of head brewer.


    Head brewer:

    You’re a recipe wizard, a passionate creator with an emphasis on teamwork, innovation, and quality. You have a lot of brewing experience and a proven track record of management. You are well versed in a variety of ingredients.


    You will brew ! You’ll be responsible for overseeing a team of 4 or 5, supervising bottling, working closely with the overall head of production (for our two facilities) and the operations manager to plan the brewing schedule and project future beers/projects. This role is equal parts creative and collaborative. You’re happy to innovate and also happy to brew beers we need.


    You don’t have a problem putting your name out there - we sometimes have high profile collaborations and press… So you’re ready to speak to the cameras if you must.


    Brewer position :

    You’re experienced. You have done some recipe creation. You’re passionate about quality. You want to be a part of the craft beer revolution in France. You know how to swim. Ok the last one is not required, but we do like to fill our grain bins with water on a hot day…

    A little about us :

    Originating from 1890, Gallia is a historic beer brand in Paris. In 2010, the company was re-launched to be one of the early installments in the Parisian craft beer scene. In 2021, Gallia was fully acquired by Heineken France, who invested in a second brewing facility for 4-5 core beers and took the responsibility of national distribution. The brewery in Pantin is the primary driver of smaller batch brews, barrel aging, creativity, and the heart/soul of what Gallia represents. At any given moment, we are a total team of 12-15 beer nerds.

    • All kinds welcome - we try to focus as much on natural and organic as possible
    • We have become known for (clean) spontaneous fermentation, and grape ales that border on natural wine
    • Historically, we do produce a lot of kettle sours…
    Equipment
    • A 20hl semi-automated BrauKon brewing system, with a total production capacity around 8,000 HL (14 fermentors of varying size)
    • An automated bottling line
    • Hopgun
    • Centrifuge
    • We like to have our whole production team participate in conditioning tasks to spread the workload and engage everyone in all aspects of the process
