    HEAD BREWER POSITION

    Are you an experienced professional brewer with the drive to be the face of a brewery?

    You should apply for the Head Brewer position! Firehouse Grill & Brewery is located in Blue Ash and is looking for a head brewer to brew our three flagship beers for our tap room. Pay is $20 - $30/hour commensurate with experience plus great benefits like free coffee and soft drinks and 50% off food.

    WHO ARE WE? Firehouse Grill Opened in 2011 in the former Watson Brother's Brewery building and quickly became known as the place for craft beer and great food. Featuring THREE private event spaces, an expansive patio, and a full service bar and restaurant and onsite Psycho Brew 7bbl Brewery, Firehouse Grill & Brewery has dominated the Pfeiffer/Reed Hartman Corner of Blue Ash with its huge footprint. It is a popular place for an office event or corporate happy hour as it is surrounded by office buildings such as Ethicon, GE, Krogers, and Ohio National Financial.

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Head Brewer is in charge of all parts of the process of brewing our 3 flagship beers (plus others if you are so inspired!).

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Performing all 7BBL brewhouse operations including: milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpooling, knockout, grain out, brewhouse vessel CIP.
    • Accurately and completely follows all brewhouse safety and sanitizing protocol.
    • Identify and correct all brewing and quality control issues. All tank cleaning and keg cleaning are the head brewer's responsibility.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional brewing experience or equivalent education.

    IMPORTANT SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    • Attention to detail, ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards, and confidence to speak up and act when safety and quality are compromised.
    • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
    • Comfort with regular multitasking while maintaining efficiency and productivity.
    • Effective and frequent communication with management

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb.
    • Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell.
    • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
    • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms. Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
    •Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. • The work environment is usually that of a brewery. • The employee occasionally works with hazardous materials. • The employee works on wet floors and with wet equipment. • The employee frequently must work in a sanitary environment.

    Job Type: Part Time to Full-time
    Pay: $20-$30 per hour

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    Performing all 7BBL Psycho Brew brewhouse operations including: milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpooling, knockout, grain out, brewhouse vessel CIP

    Accurately and completely follows all brewhouse safety and sanitizing protocol.

    Identify and correct all brewing and quality control issues

    Actively participates in sensory evaluation of finished product to monitor quality and continuous process improvement

    Assist as needed with cellar-related operations: Centrifuge/Filter operation, Fermenter CIP/Scrub/Sanitation, Cell Counting, Checking Gravities/Monitoring fermentation (Including Glycol Controls), BBT Cleaning and Sanitizing

    The work environment is usually that of a brewery

    The employee occasionally works with hazardous materials

    The employee works on wet floors and with wet equipment

    The employee frequently must work in a sanitary environment
