Jekyll & Hyde Brewing Co. is looking for an experienced head brewer to lead our rapidly growing production facility to the next level! Jekyll & Hyde is not only a brewery, but also an expanding restaurant & distillery. We are preparing to open our 3^rd location.

Job description:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years commercial brewing experience. The ideal candidate will also have experience brewing on a 7-10 BBL commercial system. Knowledge of distribution a plus!

What your role will include, but not limited to:

• Wort production/cleaning/maintenance on our two vessel Deutsche 7 BBL brewhouse.
• Ability to work flexible hours, nights and weekends if needed.
• Experience in recipe formulation for new brands/rotating seasonals.
• Ordering ingredients from suppliers/handling grains, hops, and other ingredients for brewing to keep up with brand inventory.
• Packaging operations which include keg washing, kegging and 4-head manual bottle filler.
• Barrel work including barrel transfers/equipment CIP, recipe formulation specific to barrel aging process, kegging/bottling barrel aged beers.
• Cellar operations including yeast handling and pitching, dry hopping, fruit additions, carbonation, FV CIP, beer transfers, general cleaning, and sanitation.
• Cleaning all surfaces in and around the production warehouse areas.
• General warehousing operations, including moving ingredients, barrels, and packaged products, utilizing the FIFO method.
• Performing all functions according to Jekyll & Hyde procedures and policies
• Must be familiar with all aspects of the brewing, cellaring and packaging process.
• Possess common safety and sanitary procedures for working with grain, chemicals, heat and pressure.
• Possess common CIP and SIP procedures for brewhouse, FVs, kegs and other production equipment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Meet with beverage manager to discuss future distribution strategy.
• Ability to come to work with a positive attitude and team mentality.
• Must have a valid drivers license to deliver beer to sister locations.

Job Skills and Responsibilities:

• Perform full CIP procedures based on SOP’s
• Keep meticulous records of all brewing and cellaring logs
• Knowledge how to use Ekos brewhouse managing software
• Assist in any other tasks needed to run a successful brewery
• Must be timely and punctual arriving to work and in all brewery related activities
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of beer production, including grain handling, yeast management, filtration, packaging, and QA/QC.
• Excellent communication, time management, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
• Strong overall understanding of safety procedures, regulations, and requirements.
• Communicate clearly and concisely with respect to all Jekyll & Hyde personnel at all levels, in addition to customers and suppliers.
• Physical capability of regularly lifting up to 55lbs and maneuvering 165lbs, comfort working at heights, in cramped spaces and awkward positions, and in hot and cold environments for an extended period of time.
• 21+ years of age, and the ability to pass a criminal background and illegal drug test.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Commitment to quality and hard work.
• A passion to produce quality craft beer.
