Bay City Brewing Co. in San Diego is looking for hardworking, passionate brewer to join our team! We are a small, independently owned brewery experiencing rapid growth and we want you to jump on board. Our production facility is centrally located - close to downtown, beach cities, etc. - we are basically 10 minutes from everywhere in San Diego. We operate an on-site tasting room as well as a full service taproom and kitchen in the downtown neighborhood of East Village. There is massive opportunity for advancement within our small but growing production team, as well as opportunities for creative input and recipe development as we continue to expand our portfolio.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Brewer position is primarily responsible for wort creation on the 20bbl Premier brewhouse and associated cellar equipment. The Brewer position works under the direction of the Brewmaster and is responsible for supporting Bay City Brewing Co in creating the highest quality craft beer, while following all company safety procedures, sanitization practices, and policies. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age to work for Bay City Brewing Co.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Wort production on 20 bbl Premier brewhouse
- Prepare and keep accurate records, both manually and digitally
- Monitor fermentations, including gravity checks, temperatures, pH, etc.
- May provide some cellar work and tank additions (dry hopping, fining, temperature changes)
- Coordinate with cellar workers for tank prepping/yeast harvesting and pitching
- Assist with cellar duties as needed
- Keep production areas clean and organized
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on brewery equipment
- Maintain self-education on the craft beer industry and brewing techniques
- Other duties and special projects as assigned

EDUCATION
- Brewing education is preferred or a degree in a related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in a production brewery
- Knowledge of raw materials, proper handling, and usage
- Previous brewhouse experience a plus
KEY SKILLS SET
- Must be a team player
- Passionate about beer
- Mechanical aptitude a plus
- Must be comfortable in a fast paced production environment, and willing to adapt as challenges arise
- Willing to pitch in as needed to get things done
- Familiar with Microsoft & Google Office (Gmail, Excel, Word)
- Working knowledge of all standard brewery equipment
- Familiarity with brewery production software a plus
