Looking for something different? Are you ready to grow and be challenged as a brewer? Reach Break Brewing Co. is looking to add a full-time brewer to our close-knit team! As a brewer, you will work alongside our head brewer/owner with numerous brewing and cellar responsibilities. This position will involve brewing beer, quality assurance and control, cellar work, cleaning and sanitization of equipment, keg washing, packaging, and other tasks as assigned. We showcase wild and indigenous yeast strains to ferment all of our beers - which entails fun challenges, as well as exciting opportunities in the brewery!
Compensation is negotiable and will be based on applicant’s experience.
Reach Break Brewing Co. proudly resides in the historic community of Astoria, Oregon. Astoria is located on Oregon’s North Coast, where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean, 90 miles northwest of Portland. Dubbed the salmon canning capital of the world, Astoria now boasts a vibrant cultural scene that includes art galleries, museums, trendy boutiques and Victorian homes. Our notable maritime town is also rich with history, exquisite scenery, and endless outdoor recreation. A burgeoning foodie scene offers discoveries from fine dining and local breweries to the still thriving commercial fishing industry.
Reach Break Brewing Co. is a 7bbl brewery with an affinity for showcasing time and place, as all of our beers are fermented with wild and indigenous yeast strains. Our beers are inspired by the Pacific Northwest, and we love to showcase local ingredients. Our wide array of beer styles includes everything from funky grisettes to dessert stouts to fruited sours to hoppy IPAs...and YES, even lagers!
We opened our brewery and downtown Astoria taproom in 2017 and we have continued to develop a strong following ever since. Reach Break Brewing Co. is currently expanding production/distribution and looking to grow our close-knit team. Our core values include the positive advancement of our community, increased environmental sustainability, and the production of high-quality unique beers.
Applicant Qualifications and Job Description:
- Experience: 1 year of professional brewing or cellaring experience preferred (willing to train the right individual)
- Professional Brewing Education or Certifications are a plus, but not required
- Excellent experience and knowledge of the brewing process; problem solving and creativity
- Maintain current, detailed, and accurate brewlogs, inventories, and reports
- Forklift certification and troubleshooting ability are desired.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Be Professional, Punctual, Honest, Passionate, Reliable, Self-Motivated, and have Integrity
- Ability to multitask and work quickly under pressure.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workplace.
- Strong beer knowledge and enthusiasm
- Ability to quickly learn policies and procedures for the brewery
- Conduct work in a safe manner in accordance with company established guidelines.
- Must be willing and able to work for extended periods of time in hot/wet environments and cold/wet environments.
- Physical capability and stamina to stand for entire shift and lift 55 lbs repeatedly, as well as capability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use ladders.

- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must be 21 years or older
