Head Brewer in Charleston, SC!
Hobcaw Brewing Company in Mount Pleasant, S.C. is seeking a full-time head brewer. We are a rapidly growing brewery that has been open for nearly three years. Located in a coastal town just over the bridge from downtown Charleston and minutes from several beaches, we boast an inviting, family-friendly taproom with large outdoor spaces and plenty of room for friends and family to gather.
We currently operate a 5bbl direct fire Stout brewhouse with four 5bbl fermenters, two 10bbl fermenters, and one brite tank. The bulk of our product is sold on premises, although we do have keg distribution throughout the state. Additionally, we have a Wild Goose Gosling canning line that allows us to offer beer to-go.
Job Description: The head brewer is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day brewery operations. This includes, but is not limited to:
– Ingredient sourcing and ordering
– Creating and adhering to a production calendar
– Managing an assistant brewer
– Operating a canning line
– Milling grain
– Keg cleaning
– Forecasting taproom and distribution needs
– New recipe ideation as well as strictly following current recipes
– Maintaining a clean and welcoming work environment
Job Requirements:
– At least four years as either a head or assistant brewer in a production facility
– Strong work ethic and attention to detail
– Open to feedback and suggestions
– Respectful of all staff and customers
– Creative ideas
– A positive attitude with a willingness to help wherever needed
