Dragoon Brewing Company is looking for a motivated brewer to join our team. This is a full-time entry level position. Prior experience at a production brewery is recommended but not required.
As this position will primarily operate during our second shift, applicants must have regular availability between the hours of 9am and 9pm Monday through Friday.

Brewers on our production staff are ultimately responsible for most processes involved in the production of beer, from grain to package. It is expected that cross-training through all processes may take upwards of a year (possibly more, depending on needs). But, ultimately, when fully cross-trained a brewer will be able to safely, effectively, and on a regular basis complete tasks related to:
It is anticipated that a brewer new to our staff will spend the first few months exclusively packaging beer and assisting warehouse operations prior to advancing into the cellar (and then, eventually, brewhouse).
Important characteristics of successful brewers include: strong attention to detail, a willingness to listen and learn, great communication skills, humility.
The brewer reports to the Head Brewer and Operations Manager.

- Cellar work, including filtering, dry hopping, harvesting yeast, and cleaning tanks.
- Packaging finished beer, including kegging and canning on our 6-head can line.
It is anticipated that a brewer new to our staff will spend the first few months exclusively packaging beer and assisting warehouse operations prior to advancing into the cellar (and then, eventually, brewhouse).

- Producing wort on a 30bbl 3-vessel MARKS brewhouse.
- Cleaning and filling kegs.
- Canning on a 6-head CODI can line.
- Cleaning and sanitizing tanks and equipment and maintaining the brewery space.
- Transferring beer through a lenticular filter.
- Taking critical measurements of fermenting beer and monitoring control systems for proper function and faults.
- Harvesting yeast.
- Dry hopping tanks.
- Operating a forklift and assisting warehouse operations with tasks related to shipping and receiving.
- Data collection and entry.
- Representing the company at festivals and other beer events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants that will be considered must:
- Be 21 years of age.
- Be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Have a working knowledge of industrial safety and operations of heavy machinery.
- Work well within a team environment.
- Familiarity with computers and software – particularly spreadsheets and word processing.
- Have flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
- Have regular availability between the hours of 9am and 9pm Monday through Friday.
It is recommended that applicants have:
- Prior experience working in a production brewery or similar facility.
- Operated forklifts or similar other machinery.
- A strong background in brewing science, chemistry, or other similar physical science.
- A basic understanding of beer production and brewing ingredients.
- An interest in further developing knowledge related to beer ingredient and process.
Physical Requirements
All brewers are expected to (with reasonable safety accommodations):
- Lift 55 lbs. from ground to shoulder high.
- Lift 75 lbs. from ground to waist high and moving 150 lbs. along the floor.
- Climb stairs, ramps, and ladders.
- Work in small and confined spaces.
- Work safely with chemicals.
- Work in loud environments.
- Follow safety guidelines and adhere to PPE standards.
- Work effectively in a wide range of climates – our brewery is often chilly winter mornings and very hot (>100F) summer afternoons.
