    Bohemian Brewery is seeking an experienced Brewer to join our team and contribute towards our mission of perfecting the art of brewing European-style lagers. Bohemian's product portfolio is anchored by our classic Czech Pilsener, Czech Dark Lager, and other European lager styles such as Vienna Lager, Bavarian Hefeweizen, Munich Helles, Munich Dunkel, Alt Bier, Export Lager, and Maibock, in addition to a year-round Mexican Cerveza Lager. Seasonal specialties include Kölsch, Oktoberfest Märzen, Doppelbock, German Pils, and other lesser-known regional styles.

    Bohemian Brewer job responsibilities include:
    • Operating knowledge of all brewing equipment
    • Wort production for over 17 different brands
    • Familiarity with decoction, step-mashing brewing methods and how they affect final outcomes
    • Yeast management and care
    • Periodic cellaring tasks, including: CIP/COP, beer filtration, restocking beer for restaurant draft system, draft line cleaning, and other related tasks
    • Periodic packaging tasks, including: assisting on the can line, kegging beer, packaging multi-brand samplers
    • Disciplined in brewery cleaning and general cleanliness standards
    • Conduct necessary fermentation and yeast management
    • Occasional forklift operation
    • Communicate with cellar and packaging staff to ensure adherence to the brew schedule and production plan, including providing notification on raw material supply status
    • Ensure that raw materials, in-process beer and finished beer are analyzed appropriately to ensure a quality finished beer
    • Work with brewing staff to resolve quality issues and elevate significant problems to the brewery management team to ensure that the highest quality of beer is released to the market
    • Proficiency with Ekos is a plus
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g. mornings or evenings)
    • Have a focus on details at all levels of the brewing process

    Bohemian Brewer qualifications:
    • Must be at least 21 years of age to work in the brewing industry
    • Have a self-starting attitude with the ability to work independently
    • Demonstrate strong work ethics with good communication skills
    • Ability to repeatedly lift 55 lb at shoulder height, and be able to push/pull/roll 165 lb kegs
    • Duties require the ability to stand, walk, crouch, and lift regularly during a shift, including dragging, carrying, and manipulation of hoses, pumps, parts, and buckets
    • Ability to work in temperatures ranging from walk-in coolers to hot-and-humid brewing areas
    • 3+ years of production brewery and/or beverage manufacturing experience is preferred, with a track record of high performance in the required job competencies above
    • Proficiency in brewing, fermentation processes, and canning and kegging operations is required
    • Mechanical aptitude is preferred
    • Bachelor's Degree and/or Certificate from an accredited brewing science school preferred (technical and/or brewing-specific courses preferred)

    Bohemian Brewer compensation:
    This Brewing position is a full-time position.
    Starting Range: $20-25/hr

Native Czechoslovakian Joe Petras founded Bohemian Brewery with his knowledge of traditional European lager brewing and a local yeast strain brought over from his Czech hometown's beloved brewery. Still 100% locally owned and operated, Bohemian is a testament to European heritage brewing, and we continue perfecting the art. We brew and package every drop on-premise using our 10-bbl, 5-vessel, Specific Mechanical brewhouse built for lager and decoction brewing, with a cellar capacity of up to 7000 bbls per year. Attached to Bohemian Brewery is a full-service restaurant that is open 7 days a week – Bohemian Grille.
