Responsible For:
all aspects of wort production and related processes
• Prior mastery of Senior Cellar Operator skills
• Ability to perform all Brewhouse operations
Start up and shutdown of facility processes
Operation of Brewhouse computer and automation system
Milling, hop additions, antifoam additions, spice additions
• Ability to perform cider production functions
• Management of fermenters
• CIP, sanitization, temperature monitoring
• Monitor quality parameters and work to resolve issues promptly
• Obtain samples needed for the lab
• Accurate daily record keeping
• Attend and participate constructively in meetings
• Maintain an orderly and safe working environment in department as well as entire facility
• Personal appearance and conduct reflective of professionalism and pride in Harpoon
• Participate in taste panel as directed
• Maintain Brewhouse vessels in tour worthy condition
• Communicate critical information with appropriate departments
• Take direction from Senior Brewer and Head Brewer
• Contribute to a positive work environment through open and constructive dialogue
• Contribute to and be receptive of continual innovation and improvement
• Provide breaks for other brewers
• Communicate issues and concerns with staff and management as they arise.
• Assist in other departments or perform other tasks as needed
• Follow all company policies as detailed in company handbook – attendance, safety, IT protocols, etc.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities
• Minimum of 4 years brewing/manufacturing experience
• Ability to work varied shifts
• Proper use of PPE
• Mechanical aptitude
• Attention to detail
• Forklift certification
Work Environment:
Wet, noisy area, working with strong chemicals
Physical Job requirement:
Repetitive lifting of 50 lbs walking up and down stairs repeatedly
Additional Skills:
Familiarity with PLC controls
