Title: Assistant Brewer
Location: Half Batch Brewing, Hendersonville, TN

Position Start: by 6/12/2017
Half Batch Brewing is a 10 bbl production brewery with a taproom opening in June 2017. We are in need of a full time Assistant Brewer. Duties will include anything and everything related to brewing beer from grain to glass. Candidates should be willing to work flexible hours and do whatever needs to be done, including serving in the taproom, working festivals, and delivering kegs to local accounts as necessary. This will be a relatively physically demanding system to brew beer on. Candidates should be willing and able to perform all required tasks with no problems, such as lifting and moving kegs, raking spent grain from the mash tun, moving tubs of spent grain around, etc. Experience working in a commercial brewery is a requirement. Knowledge of concepts of brewing science and their application in the brewing process preferred. Ability to have fun while getting stuff done is a must. The brewery is about 30 minutes from the bustling and growing city of Nashville, TN. We will be the first brewery ever to brew beer in Hendersonville TN. Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional brewing experience in a production brewery or brewpub
- Proficient technical knowledge in all aspects of the brewing and packaging process
- Mechanical understanding of common small brewery equipment
- Knowledge of and passion for great beer
- Ability to get things done with a good attitude
- Willingness to work full-time flexibly (odd/extended hours and weekends as needed)
- Good communication skills
- Clean driving record
- Personality and attitude to convert new customers to craft beer
- Knowledge of beer serving, draft line balancing, and beer line cleaning
- Ability to follow SOPs and observe and record brewing data
- Ability to lift and move 55 pounds, maneuver full beer kegs onto/off of pallets, climb ladders and ramps, crouch, and work in tight spaces
- Willingness to be frequently exposed to wet conditions and work in extreme temperatures
- Willingness and ability to work safely with industrial grade chemicals
- Willingness to work safely in environments with variable noise levels
- Desire to grow into a Head Brewer position
