Pug Ryan’s Brewing Company is seeking a full time experienced lead brewer for our packaging brewpub in Dillon, Colorado. We produce approx. 1600 bbls annually on our 15 bbl brewhouse for consumption on premise in the brewpub, and in kegs & cans across Colorado.
Responsibilities of this position include everything from ordering the raw materials to loading the cans & kegs for distribution. Highlights of this position include (but are not limited to):
Brewhouse operations (milling, mashing, lautering, etc), CIP/sanitation, yeast management, tank management, raw material management, scheduling, packaging (kegging & canning- Wild Goose canning line), inventory, equipment maintenance, forklift operation, draft line maintenance, recipe development, and record keeping
Other duties will include attendance at festivals around the state of Colorado, brewhouse tours, staff education, support of sales staff, and being a constant community ambassador for the brand.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2 years experience as a professional brewer in a brewpub or commercial setting
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Self Starter, independent thinker, mature & confident personality
• Adaptability to changing circumstances and priorities
• Desire to grow professionally, drive to stay current with trends and topics, strong knowledge of beer styles
• Flexible schedule – willing to work OT in high times, including nights and weekends on occasion
• Ability to work in a loud, wet, cold/hot production environment
• Ability and desire to direct & motivate others
• Mechanical aptitude, problem solving/trouble shooting nature
