Brewer Job Opening
We have a brewer position open for hire at Southern Star Brewing Company in Conroe, Texas. The person will be responsible for operating our 60 bbl brewhouse, cleaning fermenters and bright tanks, some lab duties, and cleaning to maintain a safe and hygienic brewing facility. This position will report to our Production Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Competently operate 60 bbl brewhouse, including milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, pitching yeast, and transfering to fermenter farm
- Take cell counts of new batches
- CIP clean fermenters and bright tanks according to SOP
- Perform routine CIP cleanings of the brewhouse according to SOP
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Work well in a team environment
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years professional brewing experience preferred
Physical Demands
- This position will require the individual to stand for hours at a time, crouch, and regularly lift boxes/bags that weigh up to 60 lbs.
- This job is mostly performed in an unconditioned warehouse, which can become very cold, or hot and humid, depending on the season. The warehouse is typically very loud.
