Summary:
Shift Brewer is responsible for ensuring all batches of beer assigned by the brewmaster are brewed to previously established quality control standards in a safe, sanitary and efficient manner.
Essential Job Function:
Safely and efficiently operate brewhouse equipment to produce wort according to previously established SOP’s including but not limited to each of the following activities: milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, grain out, knockout, brewhouse CIP, and assist cellar department
Maintain safety and quality standards as they relate to brewing
Ensure a clean and sanitary work space
Document all movements of beer
Other duties as assigned by Brewmaster or Head Brewer
Essential Job Requirements:
Two years industry experience or a degree from an accredited brewing institution required
Ability to lift at least 100 (lbs.) pound objects, to stand for long periods of time, able to bend, and work in a loud, hot, and quick paced production environment
Forklift certification or ability to become certified
Ability to read write and easily communicate with other team members
Competency with standard office technology
Experience using Orchestrated Beer strongly preferred but not required
Must have a passion to make really great beer!
