Howe Sound Brewing in Squamish BC is hiring to fill a Brewer position. Howe Sound has been operating as a production brewery and brewpub out of our Squamish location since 1996. We produce about 14,000HL yearly and have been consistently growing. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following: • Accurately following brewing recipes to completion on 24HL brewhouse • Brewhouse and tank CIPs, cleaning floors, tank exteriors and equipment • Daily gravity and pH measurements of all active brews • Yeast work and fermentation management • Yeast cell counts and pitching rate calculations • Helping with test batches and recipe fomulation • Maintaining accurate records for all activities • Use chemicals in a safe manner with MSDS knowledge • Performing sensory analysis of beer with knowledge of off flavours and defects • Giving brewery tours, attending events, and speaking at beer pairing dinners as needed • Maintaining regular and consistent attendance and punctuality • Acting responsibly with integrity and honesty Qualifications: • Production brewery experience of 1-2 years. Ideal candidate will have experience in all areas of the brewery • Follows directions well and pays extremely close attention to details and cleanliness • Mechanical aptitude with ability to maintain and repair equipment • Physically able to work on your feet for long hours and be able to safely lift and/or maneuver 165lbs • Willingness to work varying shifts that may include weekends or evenings • Great attitude, willingness to be part of a team, and do what is required to meet production demands. • Ability to problem solve quickly • Passionate and knowledgeable about craft beer • Must care about consistently producing a quality product above all else Must be Legally able to work in Canada.
