    Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats is seeking a passionate, technically gifted, quality focused, safety driven, and team oriented Lead Distiller to join our Off-centered world. In this amazing role, you’ll translate the team’s Off-centered concepts (while re-imagining some tried-and-true favorites) into beverages worthy of the shark and shield. The Lead Distiller is responsible for full distilling operations from identifying and ordering raw materials, maintaining output schedules to hit budgets, reporting for regulatory purposes, scheduling coworkers and hand packaging bottles...note to reader this list is not exhaustive. You’ll put the spirit in spirits, building enthusiasm and loyalty for the awesome beverages you produce through staff engagement and education and interaction with our parched patrons. While there is intense creativity in every bottle we produce, you will develop and adhere to recipes and SOP's to achieve the best possible consistency of taste and experience for our spirited fans. You’ll do a lot of other stuff and have fun doing it all in the name of smooth, delicious, Off-centered shots. This is righteous work, people.

    What you need to land this gig:

    We seek an accountable, reliable person who is adverse to cutting corners and takes immense pride in the work they produce. You must be able to closely adhere to procedures and guidelines, including following recipes per exact specification and implementing detailed cleaning regimens. The successful candidate for this role will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or other related discipline and/or 5 years progressive commercial spirits distillation experience. You must have an advanced understanding of distilling/brewing science and a working knowledge of distilling/brewing equipment and systems with an emphasis on practical distilling/brewing techniques aimed at quality, consistency and flavor. You must have a proven track record of formulating and producing world class spirits and beverages. A practical working knowledge of various distilling equipment and setup is essential to this role. Prior supervisory experience is helpful; a strong proclivity toward building awesome coworker relations is a must. Must be able to lift 55 pounds, twist/turn, reach over shoulders, bend/stoop and stand/walk on a continual basis. While this isn’t a beer gig, an appreciation of our beers and enthusiasm for the craft industry as a whole is also pretty important to us!
