Cellar person
Summary:
The Cellar person is responsible for aiding in the overall operation of the brewery by supporting the brewmaster/head brewer, Assistant Brewer and other staff with their daily duties. Cellar experience in transferring,filtering,kegging and cip of tanks.
The Cellar person must be committed to maintaining consistently high standards, and have a passion for helping to create and package outstanding craft beer. Must be internally motivated and detail oriented. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays. He/She should be proactive in their support of the Head Brewer, Assistant Brewer and other staff and willing to take on any job that is asked of them for the successful operation of the brewery. The Cellar person must be able to respond to a fast-paced, ever changing environment in a constructive and positive manner.
Supervisor: Brewmaster/Head Brewer and Head Cellar
Primary Responsibilities:
*Cellar Operations
Assist Head Cellar person with all aspects of the brewery operation, to include:
Transferring of beer
Filtering on a plate and frame filter
Kegging
Cip of tanks
Inventory
Cleaning
Brewery tours
Brewery special events
Staff training (beer and brewery operations)
Overall appearance of the brewery- cleanliness & organization
Shipping and receiving
Any other duty deemed necessary by the Brewmaster
*Miscellaneous
Coordinate miscellaneous projects as directed by Brewmaster.
Minimum Qualifications:
•1-2 years professional brewing experience; transferring,filtering and cip of tanks
•Education: High School or equivalent.
•Valid driver’s license and fork-lift experience
•Proficient communication in English (verbal and written)
•Basic computer skills
•Must be flexible and adaptable to change and willing to do any job that is required for successful operations
