    Easley Winery is seeking a full-time Cellar person at our downtown Indianapolis Winery. This hourly position has a normal work schedule of 8 am to 4 pm but can be flexxed some. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of professional brewery, winery, meadery, cidery or distillary cellar experience. Formal academic experience in a microbiology field or setting is a major advantage, but not required. You must understand the proper cleaning procedures and be willing to work in a wet, physical, environment. We are looking for a self starter, who thinks on their feet and is detailed oriented.

    About Us

    Located in downtown Indianapolis, Easley Winery is a 46 year old, Indiana Winery. We are the oldest and largest family owned winery in the State, with 2nd generation management. Producing over 125,000 cases of wine, mead, sparkling wine and RTDs a year, we sell in 10 States through the three tier system. We receive our grapes and honey from 7 different farms, with 90% of our raw products coming from within 400 miles of our facility. We have a 6 building campus in downtown Indianapolis with the most modern pressing, fermenting and packaging machinery available. Our cellar team averages 10 years experience and the company has been growing double digit in case quantity every year for the last 7 years. This is a fast paced, fast growing, fast changing environment.

    Job Description
    • Assist in all cellar activities including tank CIP, filtering, pressing, barreling, ingredient additions and fermentation monitoring. You must be able to follow procedures and instructions of your supervisor. Often you will be working independently.
    • Monitor, record, and evaluate the cellar for cleanliness, efficiency and performance. Identify and suggest improvements for all cellar processes including daily monitoring of cellar cleanliness and remediation of actual or potential quality issues.
    • Become familiar with and follow all Easley Winery Standard Operating Procedures
    • Assist Head winemaker & production manager in completing cellar duties. Some days may be required on the bottling line on occasion.
    • Monitor all cellar supplies such as chemicals, filter sheets etc and place orders and unload trucks for same.
    • Complete certification and training including Safety and Chemical Safety, Fork Lift, Confined Space Entry, Lock Out/Tag Out, and Emergency Evacuation.
    Ability to lift 55 pounds
    Maintain flexible schedule
    A passion for and knowledge of fermentated products
    Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
    Pass a back ground check and be legal to work in the United States
    Get an Indiana alcohol servers license
    Have a valid Indiana drivers license


    2 years of professional cellar work in a fermentation environment
    Understanding of the fermentation process and general sanitation procedures

    Compensation / Expected Workload

    Hourly rate based on experience, with an average of 40-45 hours a week. Predominately on a 1st shift basis, with rarely but some second shift (afternoon/evening) work during the grape harvest. Benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and paid time off.
