    Upslope Brewing Company, a certified B Corp, is looking to add an experienced Cellar Manager to our team. The Upslope Brewing Team is laser-focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and innovation. We are searching for a driven individual to join us in our mission to sustainably craft the highest quality products possible.


    The Cellar Manager position is primarily focused on overseeing all coldside operations, centrifuge operation, filter operation, tank cleaning, finishing carbonation, and sensory evaluation of Upslope’s craft beer and craft hard seltzer portfolio. This position is leadership-focused, with a strong emphasis on being able to coordinate other production employees on a daily basis to ensure that all production goals are met in a safe and timely manner. The Cellar Manager role requires a teamwork-oriented, responsible, and self-motivated individual who can lead a team in a fast paced environment.

    Cellar Manager Job Responsibilities
    • Maintaining a safe work area and adhering to all safety protocols at Upslope Brewing Company
    • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
    • Proper and thorough documentation of all tasks performed
    • Daily supervision and task delegation for shift brewers and cellar team
    • Collaborating with Head Brewer and Director of Brewing Operations regarding future schedule optimization
    • Communicating with QA/QC manager regarding sensory evaluation, fermentation data, and yeast management
    • Management of Brewer’s Dashboard glycol control software
    • Covering daily fermentation sampling/recording when Cellar Operator is absent
    • Cleaning, sanitation, operation and maintenance of Alfa Laval Brew 250 centrifuge
    • Cleaning, sanitation, operation and maintenance of lenticular filter and plate and frame filter
    • Cleaning, sanitation and maintenance of fermentation vessels and bright tanks
    • Scheduling and documentation of breakdown/maintenance of filtration equipment and fermentation vessels
    • Analysis of existing fermentation data to optimize beer quality and efficiency
    • Researching new processes and products to optimize beer quality and efficiency
    • Participation in weekly brewing meetings and monthly company meetings
    • Inventory and ordering of bulk chemicals, cellar process aids and filtration materials
    • Coordination with Maintenance Department regarding projects and preventative maintenance tasks
    • Oversee and lead training on all new Cellar Department hires
    • Adherence to the Master Sanitation Schedule standards of Upslope Brewing Company
    • PCR testing and yeast slurry analysis when QA/QC Manager is absent

    Work Time


    Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30 pm.

    Qualifications
    • Passion for independent, quality craft beer and hard seltzer is a must
    • Educational background in brewing or related areas is a plus
    • Minimum of 2 years professional brewing experience at a 5,000+ BBL/year brewery, management experience preferred
    • Forklift operation experience is a plus
    • Ability to work as a team and collaborate effectively with a diverse group of individuals
    • Mechanical aptitude, basic problem solving and math skills
    • Sensory evaluation experience, BJCP/Cicerone certifications are preferred
    • Flexibility, good communication skills, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
    • Ability to stand on feet for 8+ hours, lift up to 55 lbs. on a consistent basis
    • Monday - Friday availability, with occasional weekend work possible.
