Job Description
This position will work as a part of the cellar team and will report to the Head Mead Maker. Duties will include general cellar and facility cleaning, packaging, tank CIP and sanitation, juice transfer, product transfer, product filtration, adjunct additions, yeast pitching, vitals and record keeping, barrel filling and emptying, as well as general facility organization. This position will also assist in must creation and handling, fermentation management, fruit pressing, and bottling line operations with the goal of being fully cross trained to the level of mead maker. Mead, cider, or winemaking experience are a plus but are not required.
Compensation for entry level is $16/hr, however experienced candidates compensation will be determined by experience. This position is full time. Schedule is an 8 week rotation that will occasionally include evening and weekend work. Holiday work is extremely rare, but possible. Full duties and responsibilities will be dependent on experience. Required Experience and Abilities
- 1 year of relevant craft beverage experience
- Firm understanding of fermentation
- Positive attitude is a must
- Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Excellent time management
- Mechanically minded
- Forklift experience is preferred
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job
- Intensive attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- Standing for up to 8 hours a day
- Ability to manipulate valves and clamps
- Ability to work in occasionally hot, cold, and wet environments
- Ability to lift up 55 pounds
- Ability to maneuver 150+ pounds using appropriate equipment and/or assistance
- Routine pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, reaching, bending, etc
