    Kinsmen Brewing Company is a fast paced brewpub that is expanding. We are growing physically and need to make more beer for the masses that come to our 3000 ft2 taproom, our large patio, our Biergarten, and Clark Hall, our 5000 ft2 event space. And now, we are brewing our first beer that will be available off premise at UConn Athletic games.     Job Requirements:


    - Prefer >1 year of experience in the industry; specifically with cellar work
    - Strong mechanical aptitude abilities
    - Ability to operate a walk behind stacker safely

    - Enjoy working with a small team and work alone to accomplish daily tasks
    - Passion for craft beer, the industry and the community
    - Basic understanding of brewing and fermentation concepts
    - Strong organizational habits, a self-motivated work ethic, and good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    - Basic computer literacy with basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs
    - Ability to self-direct and manage time without direct input or supervision
    - Ability to manage multiple tasks without becoming overwhelmed
    - Ability to prioritize tasks, optimize your daily schedule, and be a team player

    - Ability to switch tasks without warning
    - Basic knowledge of brewery related chemistry (pH, temperature, acid vs. base, gravities) and biology (yeast, bacteria)
    - Ability and willingness to communicate consistently with the rest of the production team and front of house verbally and through text and email
    - Willingness to follow all SOPs/protocols and to assist in the development of new ones
    - Ability and willingness to interact and teach non-production employees about the brewery

    - Ability to work safely on a ladder
    - Ability and initiative to find projects to keep busy

    Job Responsibilities:

    - Work closely with the brew team to ensure weekly production needs are met in the cellar
    - Complete full CIP cycle on all tanks, often multiple in one day
    - Perform tank additions, including but not limited to dry hops, fruit, coffee, etc.
    - Set up and oversee tank transfers and finishing of beer for on-site draft and packaging
    - Assist brewers with various tasks including milling-in, mashing-out, etc.
    - Run canning line and quality control equipment as well as keg beer
    - Adhere to all SOPs and safety procedures

    - Safely handle chemicals and monitor tank pressures
    - Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment throughout the brewery

    - Assist with yeast handling and management
    - Assist with other brewery related projects such as events and cleaning

    Physical Requirements:

    - Ability to stand/walk on hard surfaces for an entire 8hr shift
    - Willingness to work in slippery and wet and warm and dusty conditions
    - Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals
    - Ability to lift up to 55 lbs on a daily basis including grain bags and fruit puree

    - Ability to move up to 2000 lbs pallets with a pallet jack
    - Ability to pull heavy pallets with a pallet jack and hand truck
