    WE'RE HIRING! Bauhaus Brew Labs is a family of musicians, scientists, artists and – above all – beer lovers, aiming to reinvigorate the spirit of the family brewery. At Bauhaus, we take a unique look at classic German-inspired beer styles, skewed slightly by a sense of play and adventure.     Reports To: Head Brewer

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Cellarperson position is primarily responsible for cellaring operations (yeast handling, assisting with basic lab duties, centrifuging, filtering, tank cleaning, pilot brewing) for a mid-sized packaging brewery.


    THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL:
    • Possess a team-first attitude and understand the need to be a self-starter
    • Have basic mechanical skills and the ability to operate basic machinery and tools
    • Maintain organization, discipline, be detail oriented with the ability to multitask
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Willingness to assist with tasks outside key responsibilities
    • Communicate efficiently with team members
    • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
    • Have the ability to work around alcohol without abusing it

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
    • Transferring, centrifuging, filtering, and cellaring beer
    • Cleaning, maintaining, and sanitizing tanks, equipment
    • Assist with yeast counting, harvesting, and health management
    • Monitoring fermentations and running quality checks via basic lab assays
    • Participating in small-batch brews/barrel aging projects
    • Maintaining accurate records
    • Abiding by safety rules and regulations
    • Possessing a willingness to learn, take direction, and work collaboratively
    • As a Bauhaus employee, you will be expected to carry yourself in a professional manner at all times when representing the company at in-house and external events.

    OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Ability to work at a fast pace and remain on feet for long periods
    • Ability to frequently reach out with hands and arms as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds employing traditional lifting methods
    • Ability to be frequently exposed to wet conditions and work in extreme cold and heat
    • Ability to safely handle chemicals, wearing proper PPE
    • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts

    COMPENSATION:
    • Compensation based on qualifications and experience.

    REQUIREMENTS (we prefer the following but are happy to hear from anyone and bring on a person with the right mindset/aptitudes even if these specific criteria aren’t met):
    • At least six months previous experience working in a brewery with an understanding of the physical requirements of this type of position
    • Must be extremely well-organized and understand that cleaning is paramount
    • Familiarity with a GEA HB1-S separator and lenticular/carbon filtration a plus
    • Ability to perform basic laboratory tasks consistently and accurately
    • Working knowledge of Ekos brewery management software a plus
