  • Cellar Operator/Brewer-in-Training - Voyageur Brewing Co - Grand Marais, MN

    Hey y'all,

At Voyageur Brewing Company, we operate a 20bbl system to create spectacular beer for locals & visitors alike. Our top three biggest priorities include safety, quality & efficiency. We are looking for a brewer/cellar operator who believes in these principals to join our team.

Grand Marais is a major tourist attraction along Minnesota's scenic "North Shore". Located across from Lake Superior, we offer a phenomenal setting for thirsty beer enthusiasts, as well as the brewers that satisfy them. This is a very small town, distant from the qualms of big cities. If you are looking for a change of pace - we've got it. The Boundary Waters Canoe Area & Superior National Forest are nearby along with some of the best skiing in the midwest. Whether you're into hiking, fishing, boating, snowmobiling or just chilling on a hammock - we've got something for everybody. Despite our town's size, we have excellent local restaurants, unique shops & a hip, vibrant community. Alas, this area is not for the faint of heart. Whatever stereotypes you may have heard about Minnesotan winters are probably true. We are rural. We are cold. That's part of the fun.

We are looking for somebody who loves beer & is passionate about quality - we take flavor very seriously, and you should too. As a cellar operator/brewer you will be trained & expected to execute the following tasks:
    • Wort Production
    • Transfers
    • CIP/SIP's of various equipment
    • Basic QA/QC lab duties
    • Basic maintenance as relevant
    • Assist with packaging (we typically can 2-3x a month)
    • Miscellaneous brewery tasks such as milling in, graining out, operating a fork lift & whatever else life throws at us)
    • Be a good human being to yourself, your immediate peers and to this community.
We're a very small, low stress crew that does a fine job of taking turns & helping one another out. We would prefer experienced production personnel but are willing to train anybody who can be coachable.

Benefits include competitive compensation (we're not just saying that), free meal per day, free beer (within reason, don't be wild), PTO and health plans for those interested. Housing leads are also available through the company. If you want to learn more, ask questions, introduce yourself or send a resume; shoot me an email at ansel@voyageurbrewing.com

    Peace, love & good pilsners,
    AT
