The Dudes' Brewing Company in Torrance, CA is looking to expand our team!
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for completing cellar day-to-day activities necessary to make high quality, innovative, and amazing beer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Adheres to and advances good safety practices.
•Directly responsible for maintaining The Dude’s Brewing quality standards in all areas of Beer Production.
•Maintain and confirm a sanitary and micro-biologically stable work environment.
•Follow and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
•Willingness to multi-task.
•Yeast handling, including tracking, and harvesting yeast.
•Monitor and document cellar, packaging, and fermentation processes.
•Occasionally aid in brew day and packaging operations.
•Cellar floor maintenance, tank CIP, centrifuge operation, cleaning, cleaning, and cleaning…
•Continual lifting, dragging, carrying, and manipulating of hoses, parts, pumps, buckets, and reservoirs, requiring standing, walking, crouching, and lifting regularly throughout the duration of shift.
•Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
Additional duties will be assigned as necessary.
MATERIALS/MACHINES/EQUIPMENT USED:
•Computer, iPad, and process automation systems.
•Brewing raw materials.
•Cleaning and Sanitizing Chemicals
•Pumps, Alfa Laval Brew 250 centrifuge, hoses, valves, clamps, gaskets, and other brewery equipment
•Fork lift/aerial lift truck, manual and electric pallet jacks, golf cart, and scissor lift.
IMPORTANT SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Ability to document work and brewing data accurately and in a timely manner.
•Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards.
•Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
•Strong mechanical aptitude.
•Ability to manage multiple processes at one time.
•Self-motivated with good time management skills.
•Ability to coordinate with other departments according to schedule.
•Ability to work in a diverse team environment.
•Ability to effectively communicate with staff throughout the brewery.
•Work off shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
•Minimum 1 year professional brewing or a professional brewing education.
•Demonstrated understanding of the brewing process.
•Outstanding communication, problem solving skills, and ability to work as a team.

•Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
•Must be able to participate in critical assessment of beers.
