Now hiring: Cellar Hand
Position overview:
Now hiring a motivated cellar hand to come on board and pick up cold side brewing responsibilities including, but not limited to, canning, kegging, CIP, transfers, carbonation and dry hopping. The ideal candidate for this position can learn and follow direction, work well interdependently with the other members of our team, and shares a commitment to the production of exceptional ales and lagers. Prior brewery experience and a strong work ethic are valued.
Job Summary
Perform all cellar work/ back side of brew tasks in a safe and efficient manner to ensure high quality beer for packaging.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
Use proper cleaning and sanitation procedures on heat exchangers and piping to fermenters to ensure product quality.
Perform all cellar operations (tank CIPs, beer transfers, carbonation, record keeping) that are required on your shift.
Sanitize fermenters
Monitor yeast drops.
Coordinate with head brewer, head cellarman, and lead brewers to ensure production schedule is met.
Train for and participate in sensory program.
Help keep brewhouse vessels/area, and cellar vessels/area clean and organized.
Assist with projects and other tasks as needed.
Take on new responsibilities as necessary.
Essential Functions
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Report to work on time
Proper use and handling of chemicals
Repeated lifting of 35–150lbs.
Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within brewery.
one year experience as a cellarman preferred.
