Bull & Bush Brewery looking for a Cellar-Person
JOB TITLE: Cellar-Person
LOCATION: Denver, Colorado
POSITION TYPE: Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for completing all of the day-to-day activities associated with Cellaring and Packaging of beer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor gravities, pH, and temperature of Fermentation Vessels.
• Fermentation Vessel and Brite Beer Tank CIP and sanitation.
• Transferring/fining beers from Fermentation Vessel to Brite or Conditioning Tanks.
• Dry hopping/Brite Tank additions.
• Cleaning kegs.
• Filling kegs.
• Work on packaging line.
• General equipment maintenance.
• Accurate record keeping
• Forklift operation.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assisting Brewers on brew days.
• Yeast handling, including laboratory cell counts, pitching, and propping yeast.
• Monitor fermentations including routine analysis of in-process beer.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
• Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience.
• Positive attitude/strong work ethic.
• Passion for craft beer and working in a team-first environment.
• Ability to lift 55lbs to shoulder, and 160lbs to hip.
• Flexibility in regard to scheduling.
• Strong desire to learn and grow.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
• The work environment is usually that of a brewery.
• Ability to work with hazardous materials.
• Ability to work on wet floors and with wet equipment.
• Ability to work around high voltage, hot water, and steam.
• Ability to work in a sanitary environment.
• Loud to moderate continuous noise in work area.
