Big Bend Brewing Company has an immediate opening for a full-time entry-level position at our 30 bbl production brewery in Alpine, Texas.
The positions responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- CIP of fermentation and bright beer tanks
- Keg washing and filling
- Working the canning line
- Maintenance of fermenter, transfer and packaging logs
- General facility labor: installing and repairing equipment, cleaning,
assisting with events, etc.
- Working effectively with other team members to meet production needs
- Working with sales team and distributors to ensure sufficient beer supply
- Upkeep and cleanliness of entire facility
- Strict adherence to safety procedures when handling hazardous chemicals and
mechanical equipment
- Paperwork and administrative duties as required by management
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- Minimum 6 to 12 months of professional work experience in a production brewery (this requirement is non-negotiable: home brewing, judging beer competitions, bartending, or "helping out" at a local brewery WILL NOT be considered adequate)
- A firm understanding of the entire brewing process
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience operating a forklift
- Physical ability to lift 55 lbs. to shoulder height repeatedly, stand for long periods of time, and maneuver beer kegs (165 lbs.) around the facility.
- Facility with basic computer software, web applications, and email etiquette
- Mindset of constant improvement in procedures and efficiencies
- Strict attention to detail
- Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to understand and follow SOPs and safety protocols
- Ability to maintain high quality standards without direct supervision
- Complete schedule availability and willingness to work flexible hours
- Brewing school accreditation is preferred
