    The Cellar Assistant works with both the QC Technician and the production department in the brewing process by operating, maintaining and monitoring fermentations, quality management, and equipment and facility maintenance throughout the entire brewing process.

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    • CIP, CUP and sanitizing of fermenters and BB tanks, lines and yeast brinks.
    • Cleaning and sanitizing of filtration equipment and lines.
    • Perform gravity reads and dry hopping of fermenters and its documentation.
    • Assist with yeast cell counts, pitching, harvesting and management.
    • Maintain turbidity, CO2 and O2 levels within product specifications.
    • Monitor transfer of beer, including filtering and beer clarification.
    • Ensure quality parameters and communicate with QA to resolve any issues promptly.
    • Maintain an organized, orderly, clean and safe work environment in all work areas, specifically the lab, cellar and parts maintenance area.
    • Manage the parts maintenance area, including repairing broken equipment in a timely manner, keeping the parts area clean and organized, submitting order requests for maintenance parts and tools, testing all repaired equipment before release for use.
    • Assist in various other projects, such as barrel and keg filling and emptying, canning line, and QA/QC.

    • Previous brewery experience strongly preferred
    • Formal professional brewing program education and/or certification strongly preferred(aka Siebel, MBAA, ABG, ASBC, etc)
    • Maintain log sheets and other written information thoroughly and accurately
    • Work unsupervised while maintaining accurate and timely records
    • Manage multiple processes at one time
    • Knowledge of yeast cell counts and pitching
    • Aptitude to work with and troubleshoot equipment
