Cellar Operator
Job Description and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Minimum Qualifications:
Maine Beer Company is dedicated to producing the best beer possible. We are looking for someone to join our Production Department to conduct daily cellar procedures under the supervision of the Director of Brewing Operations. First and foremost, the candidate must have a positive attitude and work well with others as a member of a small brewery team. Position is full time and based in Freeport, Maine. Cellar Operator
Job Description and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Brewing Operations and the Director of Quality to ensure that high quality standards are met in cellar operations
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and follow safe work practices
- Adhere to Maine Beer Company’s cellar schedule SOP to complete daily cellar tasks
- Adhere to SOPs for beer transfers; sanitary transfers with minimal oxygen pick-up
- Perform priming sugar dosing operations per SOP for bottle conditioning
- CIP of fermentation vessels, brite tanks, and hoses
- Weighing out hops and dry hopping
- Weighing out and staging malt for brewers
- Assist other production personnel (brewers and packaging team) as needed
- Perform routine maintenance tasks of brewery equipment as needed
- Perform routine cleaning tasks of brewery equipment and work areas as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Production brewery experience (minimum 1 year) and/or a brewing certification, diploma or degree required
- Ability to multi-task while working safely and efficiently
- Ability to follow established SOPs
- Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to help co-workers when needed
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs repeatedly and work standing on concrete floors for prolonged periods
- Ability to work with little to no supervision
- Self motivated / self starter / proactive / takes initiative
- Meticulous about sanitization, and has an appreciation for keeping things clean
- Electric pallet jack / fork lift experience a plus but willing to train the right individual
- Great attention to detail
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus
