  • Head Brewer/Production Manager

    Bootlegger’s Brewery is looking for a Head Brewer to lead our brewing team in Fullerton, California.

    Bootlegger’s Brewery has grown in 4 short years from a small one man operation producing 130 bbls in the first year to a company with 23 employees and on track to produce 8,500+ bbls this year. What we lacked in huge startup budget we made up for with sheer determination, innovative thinking and a true passion for quality. Our brewing environment is very fast paced and demanding (we like it that way). Not too many breweries can claim 20-22 brews a week on a manual 7 bbls brewhouse, but we are one of them. We are moving to new digs over the next few months, and rapidly expanding (yes eventually our brewhouse too). We have come to realize, that as we grow, we need a cornerstone in our brewing staff that can lead our production team and take total responsibility and ownership of our end product. The job covers many aspects of the brewery including personel management, regular communication with fellow employees, customers, and distribution partners, Overseeing all brewery operations, maintaining quality control lab work, production scheduling, personnel training, manage multiple locations and shift schedules, cleaning/sanitation, packaging, collaborative recipe development, beer evaluation, and on occasion the ability to jump in and cover a brew shift like a rockstar.

    Qualified candidates must be awesome….not to mention also having experience in a production brewery environment or packaging brewpub. They must also have experience managing people and be able to communicate well, multitask and be computer literate (MS Office). We are looking for someone that can grow with our company and help us reach our growth goals in the future.

    Essential functions require an ability to lift 55# several times/day, climb stairs several times/day, stoop into close quarters, grip and manipulate Tri-clamps several times/day, read and understand a variety of scientific instruments and calculations, and stare at a computer screen for hours without nodding off. Good mechanical aptitude/skills/knowledge is a plus. Candidates must be flexible in scheduling as schedule may vary. This is a full time, year round position.

    * Salary Commensurate with experience
    * Paid vacation and holidays
    * Employer paid medical plan
