    Dock Street Brewery seeks a passionate and energetic General Manager for our progressive and busy brewpub. Dock Street is the recipient of numerous local, national and international awards not only for the beers but also for the wood-fired gourmet pizzas. Just recently, in 2012, Dock Street was awarded Silver and Bronze Medals from Great American Beer Festival, Also in 2012 Dock Street won a World Beer Cup Bronze Medal.

    Job Overview
    Dock Street is seeking a consummate professional for a counter culture environment who posses an intense fascination with craft beer, delicious food and the constantly rousing combination they create. This person commands the performance of the restaurant inline with Dock Street’s plans and objectives, including financial performance, guest satisfaction, event coordination and staff development. This person knows how to manage people, including but not limited to organization, employee motivation, problem solving. This person can simultaneously demand respect and create a productive, gratifying work environment. This person will be able to implement promotion strategies to increase revenue. This person will properly represent the ‘Dock Street’ brand and see the restaurant as an opportunity to promote ‘Dock Street’ and vice versa. The ideal candidate can turn a watered-down macro beer drinker into a Dock Street loving Bohemian! The ideal candidate will take pride in their job. They will orchestrate and run the show while creating an exciting and profitable business.

    The Nuts and Bolts of the Job
    • Meeting financial goals of the pub with events and promotions, keeping a tight inventory, managing labor, food and operational costs
    • Creating an environment that is welcoming and exciting for customers
    • Hiring, training, scheduling and control of front of house staff
    • POS System knowledge, maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting
    • Ordering and keeping inventory of beverages, cakes, growlers, merchandise, etc
    • Accountable for all cash/credit card sales
    • Carrying out sales procedures that minimize loss and facilitate accountability
    • Working with bookkeeper with regards to vendor payment, nightly reconciliations, payroll, etc.
    • Communicating with brewery about upcoming beers and tap schedule
    • Working with brewery/marketing manager to creatively promote new beers and events
    • Coordinating, staffing and organizing events with brewery and marketing team
    • Coordinating events, parties, reservations with Head Chef
    • Maintaining daily cleanliness of restaurant and organizing regular cleaning and maintenance
    • Working with brewery to create a staff beer training program
    • Ensuring that staff has a deep knowledge of all beers on tap
    • Ensuring that staff knows of upcoming events/specials and is informing customers as well
    • Managing menus(food menu, taplist, table tents, chalkboards,etc.)
    • Working with brewery to manage keg requests for customer pickup
    • Keeping detailed records of customer complaints, employee write-ups and other daily occurrences
    • Keeping abreast of beer scene and other restaurant happenings
    • Must possess excellent communication, time management, and organization skills
