Laughing Monk Brewing is looking to hire a Logistics Manager to oversee the day to day operations of self-distribution and warehousing of finished-goods. We are a small craft brewery located in San Francisco that primarily supplies independent bars, restaurants, and liquor stores throughout the greater Bay Area.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with strong leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven managerial track record, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The Logistics Manager will oversee the distribution team, route and dispatch all deliveries, and act as an intermediary between distribution and sales/customer service to ensure that all company obligations are met as expeditiously as possible. They will also provide onsite leadership to ensure that the distribution and warehousing operations meet all safety, quality, delivery, cost, and housekeeping objectives; experience working in logistics for a self-distributing craft brewery is a huge plus.


Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

• Home Delivery and Wholesale Distribution:
  • Oversee scheduling, assembly, and route-building of all deliveries and line cleaning appointments
  • Act as primary contact for Drivers and facilitate communication between Distribution Team and Sales/Customer Service
  • Fill in for Drivers on delivery routes when required
• Inventory/Warehousing:
  • Maintain accurate wholesale inventory
  • Ensure that warehouse and cold-boxes are sufficiently organized to facilitate efficient access to all product as required
• Vehicle Maintenance
  • Create and implement a schedule for regular mechanical maintenance such that routine deliveries are not interrupted
  • Ensure that maintenance systems are properly documented
• Employee Hiring/Training
  • Oversee hiring process and conduct interviews to evaluate and hire potential candidates
  • Oversee training process of new employees and modify/update training materials as needed
• Administrative
  • Approve Bi-Weekly Payroll
  • Schedule all delivery shifts
  • Resolve and properly document any problems or workplace disputes within the department

Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff
• Fluency in GSuite tools (Drive, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.) or equivalent software. Proficiency using spreadsheets and/or other tools for data aggregation and analysis is preferred.
• Experience working with ERP software
• Experience working with commercial routing software
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to safely lift up to 165 lbs
• Ability to spend 8 hours on your feet and bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and otherwise perform physical movements as required
• Forklift certification preferred but not required

Experience:

• BA/BS degree preferred but not required
• Minimum 2+ years experience in management or comparable supervisory role
• Minimum 1+ years experience in logistics/warehousing+manufacturing. Experience in craft beer preferred and self-distributing craft beer highly preferred
