Since 2014 we’ve been producing cold-pressed juice that's currently distributed from Washington D.C. to New York City through independent naturals, large retailers, food service, e-commerce, and our own year round indoor farmers market stands. THE OPPORTUNITY
RIJUICE is looking for a Director of Operations to manage all aspects of our beverage production facility and fresh to market distribution model. We’re looking for someone with a strong sense of ownership, a real passion for making and distributing products, who loves complex problem solving, and thrives in a dynamic environment. This is an opportunity to lead a small team, apply your unique experience, and continuously improve and scale an existing operation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all production aspects and day-to-day operations to the highest standards, working alongside our COO
- Manage inventory, incoming purchase orders, and forecast demand to create weekly work orders for the production of our high pressure processed fresh pressed juice, hemp infusions, and craft soda lines
- Directly manage production staff and ensure productivity with effective scheduling, communication, and training
- Maintain the highest level of sanitation within the facility by enforcing and managing our Food Safety plan
- Learn and maintain a functional knowledge of all processing, packaging, and clean in place (CIP) equipment
- Ensure regulatory compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and the FDA by strictly adhering to and managing the paper trail of our HACCP plan
- Interface with customers and coordinate weekly order fulfillment with a third party refrigerated delivery network
- Participate in developing operating budget and budgets for capital projects
Continuous Improvement
- Develop and lead the continuous improvement initiatives for multiple products with ongoing necessary improvements in processing, manufacturing, sanitation, shelf life, sourcing, supply chain, fulfillment, etc.
- Identify, suggest, and implement best practices to facilitate solutions and methods that will optimize processes in all areas of the business
- Continuously improve and develop SOP’s and SSOP’s for the effective training and delegation of all production and cleaning related tasks
- Identify areas of improvement on the production line and CIP and conceptualize process engineered solutions
Team Supervision
- Manage production and sanitation teams, identify training and development opportunities, and define and organize new roles as the operation grows
- Interview and hire new employees. Authority to terminate employees
- Supervise timesheets, submit payroll, and manage time off requests
Fulfillment
- Receive orders from and communicate with wholesale customers and distributors
- Ensure timely delivery of orders direct to customer accounts via a third party refrigerated delivery network
- Collate fulfillment cost effectively within the parameters of route availability, product availability and shelf life, and customer demands
- Maintain inventory of all packaging related items for wholesale and e-commerce
- Issue and edit invoices and manage e-commerce customer orders and requests

- 3+ years manufacturing or operations management experience
- Proven ability leading a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
