About Us



TALEA Beer Co. was founded in 2019 by LeAnn Darland and Tara Hankinson, two women who had a passion for homebrewing and left the corporate world to pursue a career in beer. Upon meeting, they quickly realized their shared vision to start a brewery that expands the craft beer market through easy-to-love beers that are low in bitterness with fruit-forward flavors. Since April 2019, TALEA’s hazy IPAs and fruited sours have been available on draft and in colorful cans across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, and things are just getting started!



The Role



TALEA is looking for a Sales Manager to represent the company in the five boroughs of NYC. As the fourth member of the nimble TALEA team, you’ll be joining a growing company in its early stage and reporting directly to the Co-founders - be prepared to get your hands dirty!



In this role, you are the ultimate representation of the TALEA brand. You’ll be strengthening our relationships with existing customers, establishing new accounts, representing TALEA at a variety of events, and ensuring timely delivery of beer. We value autonomy, ambition, grit, and a desire to exceed expectations. You’ll be leading, managing, and owning the off-premise business across our entire sales territory, with the potential to build a team in the future. Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Co-Founders and Head Brewer to develop and deliver a robust sales strategy
  • Use a data-driven approach to create, communicate, and execute a monthly sales and distribution plan
  • Build upon existing relationships and establish new accounts with restaurants, bars, and retailers across NYC
  • Educate accounts on TALEA’s vision, mission, and brand value proposition to consumers to establish a TALEA preference
  • Drive constant communication and engagements with accounts, such as tasting events, staff training, and providing promotional materials
  • Represent TALEA in the market in unlimited facets, including but not limited to beer festivals, staff training, and brand activation events
  • Manage and execute deliveries of product (with the help of the TALEA team)
  • Assist with invoicing and payment collection



Requirements
  • Passionate about craft beer, excited about TALEA’s vision, and obsessed with customer satisfaction
  • Enthusiastic and comfortable working for an early-stage company in a rapidly changing environment
  • 1-3 years of sales experience with a proven track record of building and executing sales strategies based on KPIs
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined, you take initiative and work autonomously; you bring creative ideas to the table and see projects through to completion
  • Strong planning, organization, and project management skills, along with excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Clean driver’s license
  • Able to regularly work during evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds



Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in alcohol sales with established relationships across NYC
  • Comfortable analyzing data to provide insight and enhance decision making
  • Full competence with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Cicerone qualified

  • This is a full-time, salaried position with a customizable benefits package
