ShellRing AleWorks is a new Waterfront Brewery on the banks of Battery Creek in Beaufort/Port Royal SC. We are in the process of expanding from a brewpub model to a 12,000 square foot production brewery and Tap room with kitchen. We will be working with a new 15BBL Cru Brewing System, 42cpm Alpha Canning Line. We are forecasting 2500 BBLs our first year and are seeking experienced and qualified candidates to fill a Production Operation Manager role. This is a dynamic position and will report directly to the CEO, and be over all operations including: Purchasing, Production, Packaging, Marketing and Sales. They will coordinate with Brewer, Chef, Bar Manager and Restaurant Manager
The ideal Candidate will:
-Have extensive brewing, packaging experience in a production brewery over 5000BBL year.
-Will have a formal science and chemistry education with a professional brewer’s certificate a plus.
Some of the responsibilities include:
Brewhouse/Cellar-Work closely with our current Head Brewer assisting in development of beers and personnel.
Packaging-Take the lead in implementing all things related to packaging on a new 42 cpm Alpha Canning Line and small-scale bottling line for our wild ales
Lab/QC Program - Will implement and build quality control practices and oversee setup and purchase of laboratory environment. Develop a formal Lab and QC program immediately.
Marketing- Will take an active role in coordinating events, releases, and general marketing with Sales, Tap room and restaurant teams.
Working member of the team:
-As a relief brewer, Cellarman, and Packaging Tech with a focus on implementing packaging SOP in day-to-day operations.
-Determines the schedules, shifts and duties of all brewhouse personnel, including brewers, cellar operators and packaging operators to ensure smooth operations, proper efficiency, employee well-being , safety of team members and the visiting public, and high product quality.
-Takes the lead role in hiring new brewhouse team members and will oversee the training and ongoing development of the entire brewhouse team.
-Will lead the brewhouse team in the development, implementation and maintenance of clear, effective and executable SOPs.
-Will work with the Brewer to schedule and run regular team meetings and keep clear lines of communication throughout the brewhouse team.
-Will work with other “upstairs” personnel to keep open communications and relations between the brewhouse team and the rest of the organization.
Projects:
-Starting with the setup of our new Alpha Caning line, Lab, QC program. New mixed culture, foeder/barrel program. Other brewery projects may present themselves.
Public Events:
-The ideal Candidate is encouraged to become part of the “public face” of the brewery and get involved with our many events.
