    Since our launch in the spring of 2011, DC Brau Brewing Company has become a competitive regional brand in the DC/MD/VA and the East Coast craft beer markets. As we evolve, we are looking to further develop our team and internal capacity to support and manage DC Brau administrative and financial operations. We currently seek to hire an experienced Finance and Operations Manager.

    The Finance and Operations Manager position at DC Brau Brewing, LLC, is part of the Administrative Department. As part of the Administrative Team the Finance and Operations Manager supports and provides overall leadership for the Administrative Team, and oversees and performs a variety of financial, administrative, and operations duties for the DC Brau. The FOM organizes and monitors office financial and operations programming such as bookkeeping, company tax payments, payroll preparation, personnel management, information management, filing systems, requisition of supplies and internal resources, assists in the administration of company goals and policies, and oversees and manages daily implementation of Human Resources activities in cooperation with the Executive Team.     Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Provides leadership and directly oversees, supervises, and evaluates the performance of the administrative team including the Office and Administrative Coordinator.
    • Oversees, organizes, and monitors office operations and procedures such as bookkeeping, preparation of payrolls, personnel, information management, filing systems, requisition of supplies, and other clerical services.
    • Implements and maintains procedures for systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records and data.
    • Ensures confidentiality and controls access to sensitive information, such as personnel files.
    • Executes and manages in-house finance programming, systems, and documentation related to accounts payable/receivable, taxes, payroll, and other related programming.
    • Timely and consistent communication with CPA firm.
    • Tracks, manages, and balances company cash flow.
    • Generates bi-weekly payroll and enters payroll summary into QuickBooks system on a monthly basis. Manages the company time clock and payroll system.
    • Works with CPA firm to create, verify, and submit various state alcohol tax paperwork both electronically and by hard copy as defined by each state for VA, MD, CT, PA, and other states as needed.
    • Ensures that monthly DC sales taxes are created, verified, and submitted online, and that annual DC taxes are submitted through the DC taxpayer service center.
    • Generates and works with the Executive team to review financial reports on a regular basis.
    • Maintains point of service system to accurately track on-premise sales and tax accountability in coordination with CPA firm and On-Site Retail Manager.
    • Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
    • Complies with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting and documentation requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), local DC law and so forth.
    • Manages and regularly uses DC Brau’s on-line payroll and human capital management software (we use Paylocity).
    • Management, implementation, and documentation of day-to-day Human Resource systems and procedures. Systems include but are not limited to hiring and recruitment, injury and illness documentation including PTO and FMLA, benefits, policies, and others.
    • Ongoing evaluation and implementation of DC Brau Human Resource program, policies, and procedures in coordination with Executive Management team.
    • Provides day-to-day administration of benefits services. Develops and schedules benefits orientation and other benefits related training.
    • Document and report injury data - based on OSHA regulations. Make sure procedure is followed in tracking, completing audits, and reporting related to workers compensation.
    • Tracks and manages unemployment insurance with DC and other relevant jurisdictions.
    • Become a notary public.

    • Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive.
    • Experience using online payroll and human capital management software.
    • Experience using QuickBooks or other similar accounting software.

    Education and Experience:
    • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree or combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
    • Minimum Experience: 4 Years
    • Minimum Field of Expertise: Specialized experience including basic bookkeeping, administrative experience, and some HR experience and understanding of policy and legal compliance.
    • Preferred Education: Master’s Degree
    • Preferred Experience: 6 Years
    • Preferred Field of Expertise: Specialized experience in a manufacturing and/or business environment including bookkeeping, understanding of accounting, administrative experience, and HR experience and understanding of policy and legal compliance.

    Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 / year (depending on experience and education);Full-Time Salary, Exempt
